OK - this is my first Blog entry. I have no idea how this all works and ties together.

I am sitting at Alex' eating table in his apartment in the Noe Valley in San Francisco. I have been here for 3 weeks, other then a small trip to Portland, OR to visit Gen. I'm getting pretty comfortable here, even as I have some small panic attacks on what is coming up in just 3 weeks. Off to Cameroon!!! 2+ years of total unknown. I hope I can hack it.
